A quiet room or corner either in your room or someplace where you know no one will intrude -sometimes a little niche in
a park, or under a tree in your own backyard, or near a babbling brook.
A blanket or shawl to keep your body warm. All my students love the shawls and blankets I keep around just for
them. When you meditate your pressure goes down and you could feel a bit cooler than usual. Using a shawl is great in
the wintertime.
Candles if you wish - to set the ambiance.
Soft, gentle meditation music. See favourite music on the What It's About page.
Sit either on the floor of your office (quiet time), any floor will do in your own quiet space, on the ground, or preferably
in a straight chair. Lying down on a couch will only entice you to sleep. So discipline yourself not to let yourself
sleep.
Sitting on a chair is preferable because your feet will (should) be touching the ground/floor. This will connect
you with Mother Earth (first chakra) and will ground you during your meditation. (more on chakras later)
If you're doing this at night time to get to sleep, that's a different story, but basically you'll be meditating during
the day, during breaks to rest your mind and refresh your soul.
