Here's a fervent wish and prayer from me for all the teens in the world.  May the Spirit of Love look down upon you during these years of adventure, chaos, love, and searching.

The following was written for my very special niece and Godchild Katie, for her 13th birthday. Hope you enjoy it !
(The poem has been modified to fit male as well as female)

ON BECOMING A TEENAGER

TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY!

You are now 13 years old, a real teenager.

A genuine person, a unique person.

What a difference this birthday is from the others.

What a great time lies ahead for you.

The best years are yet to be for YOU!

There is a fun time awaiting you.

You'll be learning all about yourself,

and at the same time,

building the person that you will be when

you are no longer a teen.

Sometimes you'll feel older than you really are.

You will want to extend

your knowledge and your activities.

Other times, you'll feel like a little child again,

and when things get

too heavy, you'll be needing the closeness

and warmth of Mom and Dad.

That's O.K.  That's just you,

taking large steps forward, and coming back

for a while to feel

comfortable before moving on.

For you, this day, I'm sending three angels.

Each has a special message to help you along your way.

A Poem - Being a teenager is magical time

It`s not like being eight, or being nine

It`s roller coasters in your head

It`s lace on hats and around your bed

It`s dreaming and scheming and lots

                of crushes

                It`s writing a secret,when your

                heart rushes

A Prayer - Allow your spirit to see the moonlight filter the darkness, and let the sunshine guide you through  the wilderness;

Let a butterfly caress your cheek, when you feel life has made you weak.

A Wish -  I wish for you some gentle rain on a hot summer day, and starlit skies to stir your heart.  I wish for you to find the place inside your essence, a shelter where laughter mends the broken spirit and the quiet heals the soul.

And most of all I wish that life  for you will be ever new.
