QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

Q: When did people begin to meditate?

A: Meditation is a very ancient practice. It goes back before the time of Jesus-Christ actually. It is part of the Eastern culture in India, China, for example. People in those regions practiced meditation to elevate their awareness - to reach other levels of consciousness.

Q: Is Meditation a religious practice?

A: Meditation is not learned as part of religious practice. Meditation is learned very much apart from any religion.  It is an ancient practice of mind over body. Today, in the western world, we study meditation to learn how to accomplish relaxation; to de-stress; to achieve better results in school, at our jobs, etc.

Q: How old should you be to begin meditation?

A: Meditation can be learned as soon as a child is aware of his world. By that, I mean around the age of 5 or 6. In today's world, children need to find that space within themselves where they can reach relaxation and get rid of the stresses of daily living.

Q: Can a person be too old to learn to meditate?

A: A person can NEVER be too old to learn to meditate. The techniques of meditation can be applied to persons of all ages, and of course, modified for each person as they learn. The results will be the same - an achievement of body soul relaxation that will have a calming effect on the person learning.

Q: Can meditation help a person who is ill?

A: Of course! If a person knows how to meditate, visualizing their bodies healing can help them greatly. Visualization is part of a good healing treatment.
